The objectives of the United Sloughi Association (USA) are to promote and preserve the Sloughi by encouraging the breeding of better and finer Sloughis and by educating club members and others to support and promote the Sloughi in a responsible manner. As a UKC Provisional Club, USA’s primary purpose is to accomplish these goals as the UKC National Breed Club for the Sloughi. The United Sloughi Association is a not for profit organization that was born out of the American Sloughi Association (ASLA), the largest Sloughi organization in the United States, established in 1989 with a dedicated membership in the U.S. and abroad. Because ASLA is already affiliated with multiple other registries, USA was created in September 2008 to accommodate the desire and commitment of American Sloughi breeders to become more involved with the UKC and to promote the Sloughi within the UKC. USA’s Officers and Board of directors hail from seven different states and bring together the collective experience of Sloughi lovers involved in lure coursing, conformation, open field coursing, non-commercial racing and obedience. Our membership stands currently at thirty and growing. |
